She was predeceased by: her true love Elwood Brown; her father Virgil Burks Sr.; her siblings, Virgil Burks Jr. and Marsanna McKeehan; her nephews, Russell McKeehan Jr. and Colby Wyant; and her niece Melissa McKeehan.
She is survived by: her mother Diona Burks; her sisters, Ollie Burks and Patty VanPilsum; her children, Steven Golly Jr., Danielle Rice (Bill) and Adam Brown (Emily); her grandchildren, William Golly, Kelly Sears Jr. (Libbers), Madison Green, Mia Brown and Quinton Brown; and her great grandchild Kaleyah Golly. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other extended family, and countless friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hamilton's Funeral Home (605 Lyon St, Des Moines, IA 50309). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 at 1:30 PM at the same location.
