He was predeceased by : his parents, Theodore Rector and Dorothy Rector; his grandparents, Dick Drake, Gretchen Drake and Flo Sumner; his brother Jim Rector; and his friends, Scott Meadows, Rick Allgood, Mark White and Craig Reynolds.

He is survived by : his children, Shallis Rector (Denzel) and Taylor Rector; his significant other Deb Rector; his grandchildren, Rilee, Aniyah, Amarrion and Raeya; and his siblings, Drake Rector (Dyane), Mellody Warhol and Tim Rector. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Sunday, April 28th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Hamilton's Near Highland Memory Gardens (121 NW 60th Ave, Des Moines, IA 50313).

Memorial contributions may be made to the family in loving memory of Dirk Rector. Checks can be made out to his daughter, Shallis Rector.
