He was predeceased by: his parents, Ray Cheek and Marilyn Cheek (Cooper); his grandparents, Glen Cooper and Mary Ann Cheek (Crouch); his aunt Helen Cooper; and his grandmother Helen Cooper.
He is survived by: his sister Luanne Bates; his nephew Joshua Bates; his nieces, Bethany Bates and Courtney Lucht (Christian); and his close friends, Bob Coash, Jeff Templeton, Steve Forest, Mike Curry, Rick Keeler and Dorine Lawrence.
