It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Donna Kent (Des Moines, Iowa), who passed away on December 4, 2025, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Donna Kent to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, George Strable and Ilene Strable; her husband James Kent Sr.; her siblings, Dennis Strable, Larry Graspy, Dorothy Wessel and Diane Wise; her stepgrandson Aden Beaman; and her stepgreat-granddaughter Oaklynn Ryan.
She is survived by: her son James Shelton Jr. (Kristina); her brother George Strable (Sherri); her former husband James Shelton Sr.; her grandchildren, Michael (Megan), Jennifer, Kimberly and Emily Shelton; and her stepgrandchildren, Kassadee Nelson, Jennifer Clarke, Johnathan Clarke, Ashlyn Beaman and Gabriel Beaman. She is also survived by many great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 15th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Hamilton's Southtown Funeral Home (5400 SW 9th St, Des Moines, IA 50315). A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 15th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
