He was predeceased by: his parents, Ira Ellis and Gladys Ellis; and his brothers, Gene (Doreen) and Barry. He is survived by: his wife Doris Conklin; his children, Robin Gurwell of Indianola, Kelly Wernli (Matt) of Altoona, Dr. Timothy Ellis (Gay) of Marthasville and Alan Ellis (Karen) of Johnston; his grandchildren, Adam Wernli (Ashlie), Erin Thrap (Shaun), Nicholas Gurwell (Crystal), Joshua Ellis (Jennifer), Jenna Adrian (Michael), Faith Curry (Brian), Joel Ellis (Ericka), Jonathan Ellis (Lindsey), Breanna Vander Ploeg (Jacob) and Mackenzie TeKippe Ellis (Joseph Tekippe); his great grandchildren, Gwenivere, Aydon, Keegan, Maleah, Lauren, Piper, Lleyton, Hannah, Ellie, Luke, Lainey, Jordyn, Will, Harper, Tessa, Aria, Jarek, Peyton and Callan; and his sister Leah Darr. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
