She was predeceased by: her parents, Jacob Schmitz and Veronica Schmitz (Cordie); her husband Dean Charlton; her stepmother Betty Schmitz; her parents-in-law, Hugh and Grace Charlton; and her siblings, Victor, Don, Reinhard, Eugene, Jacob Jr., Vernon, Dave, Valeria, Vivian, Katherine, Laura, Veronica and Louise.
She is survived by: her children, Randy Charlton (Rita) of Ankeny, Debra Hayes (Bruce) of Dike, Diana Murphy (Matthew) of Altoona, Lori Temp (Roger) of Robbinsdale, Minnesota, Steven Charlton of Cedar Falls and Pamela Arndorfer (William) of Waterloo; her brother James Schmitz; and her siblings-in-law, Carole Schmitz, Delores Thompson and Earl Triplett. She is also survived by her 15 grandchildren and 43 great-grandchildren.
