He was predeceased by: his parents, Clair Cicel Smith and Ella Frances Smith (Anderson); and his wife Coral Vondeen Smith (Shouse). He is survived by: his children, Sheila Stefani (Robert), Joseph Smith (Barbara) and Elizabeth Delurhery (Matthew). He is also survived by eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to Hope Ministries, Boys Town, or Salem Lutheran Church in Creston.
