He was predeceased by: his parents, Lowell Schaefer and Maxine Schaefer (Collier); his wife Susan Diane Campbell; his siblings-in-law, Donna Campbell, Yvonne Schaefer and Bob Smith; and also, Helen and Glen Campbell.
He is survived by: his sister Gwendolyn Kay (Don Jandreau) of Weiser, ID; his children, Dana Danelle (Warren Evans) of Bridgewater, IA, Danette DeAnn (Richard Hoffman) of Reinbeck, IA and Derald (Brenda Schaefer) of Diagonal, IA; his brothers, Carl Schaefer of Okeechobee, FL, Kenny (Cathy Schaefer) of Diagonal, IA and Mike (Karen Schaefer) of Maloy, IA; and his siblings-in-law, Gary (Jean Campbell) of Leon, IA, Dennis Campbell of Mount Ayr, IA and Sheryl Smith of Dexter, MN. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A memorial fund has been established in his name to be decided. Keep Gerald "Jerry"'s legacy alive by donating to a charity in need.
