She was predeceased by: her parents, Merle Schoolen and Effie Schoolen; her uncle Harold; her aunt Marguerite Lemons; and her brothers, John and David Schoolen.
She is survived by: her husband Dan Wasko; her children, Sherry Scharf (Brad), Brian Wasko (Gina) and DJ Wasko; her grandchildren, Ellie, Megan, Dani Abens, Rosie, Maddie and Owen Wasko; and her siblings, Marion Crall (Bernard) and Robert Schoolen. She is also survived by extended family and dear friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, November 5th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Bellizzi-MacRae American Legion Post #659 (1813 SE 1st St, Des Moines, IA 50315).
