With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Helen Hill (Des Moines, Iowa), born in Yankton, South Dakota, who passed away on February 12, 2024 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernest Schmidt and Mabel Schmidt; her daughter Linda McGhee; and her siblings, Viola Butrick, Loyd Gilbertson, Jean Briggs (James), Frieda Warnock (Guy) and Eugene Schmidt.

She is survived by: her husband Norman Hill; her children, Jerry Hill (Becky Morris), Steve Hill (Pam), Scott Hill (Diane) and Cheryl Gilbert (Bruce); her grandchildren, Scott McGhee, Andy McGhee, Bryan McGhee, Joanna Hill, Ben Hill, Toby Hill, Jeremy Hill, Brad Hill, Josh Hill, Tim Hill, Jason Hill, Nicole Palmer, Tucker Gilbert, Hunter Gilbert, Kesley Auer and Karen McGhee; and her siblings, Ernestine Merchant (Charles), Frederick Schmidt (Marlene), Joe Schmidt (Ardith) and James Schmidt (Pat). She is also survived by numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
