He was predeceased by: his parents, John Garton and Bernice Garton (Carmean); his brother Chuck; and his siblings-in-law, Sandy Reynolds, Susan Morris, Donna Rhoades, Sheila Rhoades, William Rhoades, Dick Reynolds and Bill Harper.
He is survived by: his wife Margaret (Rhoades); his children, Rhonda Emmack (Steve), Jennifer Beard (Gene) and Jim Jr. Garton (Kim); his grandchildren, Kurtis Garton (Tony), Chad Garton (Christy), Jordan Beard-Hopkey (Evan), Alex Garton (Amanda) and Alexandra Beard; his brothers, Gene Garton (Kathy), Dennis Garton and Bobby Garton (Cathy); and his siblings-in-law, Gayle Harper and Gary Morris.
