He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Shenk and Inez Shenk (Dixon); his son Christopher; his brother John Shenk; and his son-in-law Kenneth Underwood.
He is survived by: his wife Penny; his daughter Susan "Mickey" Underwood; his granddaughter Morgan Thorpe; his sister-in-law Mary Shenk (Dodge); and his sibling's children, Amanda Kimbrough (Ross), Carrie Larson (Chad), Emily Shenk-DeMay (John), John Just and Stephen Just.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Jim's name can be made to Peach Area Dollars for Scholars or Middle River Friends Church.
