With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Janet Marie Porter of Des Moines, Iowa, born in Rockford, Illinois, who passed away on July 11, 2023 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Melvin Swanson and Lillian Swanson (Gregersen). She is survived by: her husband Clay; her children, Jeff Porter, Carri Lauterbach (Mike) and Randy Porter (Lavender); her grandchildren, Kristina, Taylor, Jacob, Nicholas (Haley), Lacey (Alex) and Nathan; her great grandchildren, Ari, Thomas and Hayes; and her sisters, Lorraine Plander (Bill), Phyllis Witzel (Don) and Jo Gaffey (Garny). She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be directed to the Dallas County EMS or Spurgeon Manor, reflecting Janet's deep compassion for others.
