He was predeceased by: his parents, John Stanton and Marilyn Stanton; his brother Roger Stanton; his parents-in-law, Gerald and Anne Thornton; and his siblings-in-law, Laura Thornton and Daniel Thornton.
He is survived by: his wife Libby Stanton; his sons, Jack Stanton and Teddy Stanton (Megan); and his granddaughters, Kimberly and Olivia.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 18th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Augustin Church (545 42nd St, Des Moines, IA 50312). A funeral service was held on Thursday, September 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
