It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Baker of Des Moines, Iowa, born in Osceola, Iowa, who passed away on November 5, 2023, at the age of 62, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his mother Marjorie Baker (Henson); his nephews, Jeremiah and Isaiah; his pets, Spook, Peanut, Snuggles, Buster, Sampson, Taffy and Attitude; his father-in-law Joe Heldenbrand; and his brothers-in-law, Jeff Heldenbrand and Rick Hervey.

He is survived by: his wife Bea Baker of Des Moines; his father Dean Baker of Winterset; his siblings, Tom Baker (Nancy) of Winterset, Mike Baker (Sheri) of Adel, Richard Baker (Sheila) of Winterset, Patrick Baker (Anne) of Lorimor and Beth Whiteing; his mother-in-law Wilma Heldenbrand of Des Moines; his siblings-in-law, Lew Heldenbrand (Rose) of Prole and Carla Poe (David) of Hedrick; and his close friend Glenn Aiken (Becky) of North Carolina.
