With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John Chan Ung (Des Moines, Iowa), who passed away on July 10, 2025 at the age of 69. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Cheuang Ung and Linn Ung (Tham). He is survived by: his wife Nongkane; his children, Katie Ung, Allen Ung (Keola), Jennifer Hiracheta (Rocky), Christy Ung, Michael Ung and Carter Ung; his grandchildren, Anfernee, Valerie, Sumaiah, Peyton, Jayden, Nekayla, Myah, Zayden, Anthony, Asia, Dahranie, Roc and Kato; and his siblings, Sina Ung Baccam (Lac), Heng Ung, Hong Ung (Maryann), Seng Ung (Dalica), Fong Ung, Leng Ung, Wa Ung (Dep), Hung Ung (Sou), Kheng Ung (Oh) and Nam Ung (Lisa). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 15th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Hamilton's Near Highland Memory Gardens (121 NW 60th Ave, Des Moines, IA 50313). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 15th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Hamilton's Near Highland Memory Gardens (161 NW 60th Ave, Des Moines, IA 50313).
