He was predeceased by: his former wife Dolores B Smith; his daughter Mara Smith; his mother Ruby Smith; his brother John Michael Gill; and his siblings-in-law, Irene Fortunato, John Fortunato and John Prano.
He is survived by: his wife Judith Smith; his sister Angela Smith; his children, Arthur Smith (Renea), Mark Smith (Shelly), David Smith (Lisa), Helen Lile (Jim), Ray Philips (Ashley) and Joy Mulholland (Steve); and his grandchildren, Jessica Jimenez, Joel Smith (Jessica), Ashley Smith, Jason Saunders (Beba), Ryan Smith, Brandon Smith, Alexandria Smith, Victoria Smith, Andrew Lile (Destiny), Jillian Lile, John Phillips and Madeleine Phillips. He is also survived by many nieces, a nephew, and many great grandchildren.
