It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Kathleen Clark of Des Moines, Iowa, born in Akron, Ohio, who passed away on September 20, 2025, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Herbert Scott Clark and Jean Risk Morton; her siblings, Herbert, Gilbert, Louisa and Janette; her former husband Phil Kerber; and her grandson Noah Leners.
She is survived by: her children, Scott (Jackie), Jean and Tom (Nora); her extended family Ed Leners (Debra, family: Ephraim Senbetta, Tibebu Senbetta); and her grandchildren, Erika Ellenbogen, Sam Ellenbogen, Farah Ellenbogen, Christena Mittel, Connor Kerber, Riley Kerber, Sophie Newhouse and Nevin Leners. She is also survived by family, Ephraim Senbetta and family.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM at the Grace United Methodist Church (3700 Cottage Grove Ave, Des Moines, IA 50311). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to Iowa Migrant Movement for Justice (formerly Justice for our Neighbors) whereas the supervisor of Church and Community workers, she hired their first immigration attorney and served on the board for a period during her retirement. Memorials may also be directed to Grace United Methodist Church.
