He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Yearns and Mary Louise Yearns (Schubert); his sister Marilyn; and his brother-in-law Lyle Holt. He is survived by: his wife Mary; and his siblings-in-law, Lynn, Dixie Holt, Leon, Laura Blanchet, Paul Holt and Bill Lynch. He is also survived by nephews and nieces.
Memorials may be made to the Neal Smith National Wildlife Refuge near Prairie City or to Trinity Las Americas United Methodist Church in Des Moines.
