We announce the death of Kevin Brown of Des Moines, Iowa, who passed away on September 15, 2026, at the age of 67. Kevin will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Kevin will be remembered for the impact he had on the lives of those around him. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew Kevin will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture his life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. Kevin’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued his companionship.
He was predeceased by: his son Jamie Cantrell; and his brother Dana Brown. He is survived by: his wife Chris Brown of Manilla; his sons, Jeremy Brown (Brittany) of Omaha, Marc Cantrell of Cody and Troy Cantrell of Denison; his siblings, Darrell Dean Brown, II (Anita) of St. Charles, Kelli Marshall (Brett) of St. Charles and Kristi Brown of Des Moines; and his mother-in-law Carol Schmidt (Richard) of Manning. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 21st 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Ohde Funeral Home (108 1st St, Manning, IA 51455). A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 21st 2026 at 7:00 PM and on Tuesday, September 22nd 2026 at 10:30 AM.
