He was predeceased by: his parents, Denzil Eugene and Faye Louise Johns (Gunzenhauser); and his brothers, Rick and Les Johns. He is survived by: his wife Betty Johns (Pike); his children, Little Larry, Beth and Joni; his stepchildren, Bettylee Miller, Karla Samo (Jerry), Leona Kane and Neal Miller (Joyce); and his sister Robin Waters (Richard). He is also survived by many step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
