He was predeceased by: his parents, James "Emmert" Barry and Lucille Irene Barry (Rouh); his children, Marijo "Jodi" Ramos and Elias Ramos; and his siblings, Margaret "Carolyn" Barry and James "Dick" Barry.
He is survived by: his wife Beverly Barry; his children, Matthew Barry (Heather) of Kansas City, Madigan Joy, Mackenzie Ann and Michele Gates (Bill) of Runnells; his grandchildren, Jaycie Lynn Hake Figge (Jacob), Isabella Francine Hake (Matthew) of Urbandale, Cristian Ulises Joel Ramos (Hannah) of Urbandale, Jacob William Gates of Runnells, Julianna Irene Gates of Runnells and Xavier Leo Ramos Gates of Runnells; and his great grandchild Leon Murphy Hake. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
