With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Loren George Dittmer (Des Moines, Iowa), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 14, 2026 at the age of 96. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Rose Dittmer (Sherman) and Frank Dittmer. He is survived by: his children, Randal Dittmer (Donna) of Colfax, IA and Rebecca Dittmer (Jimmy Smith) of Altoona, IA; his grandchildren, Jason Smith (Julia) of Elgin, IL, Jeremy Dittmer (Jacqueline) of Newton, IA, Amanda Bullard and Kavin Fagerlind of Ankeny, IA; his great grandchildren, Taylor Greiner, Molly Smith, Devin Smith, Wyatt Bullard and Tessa Bullard; and his great great grandchild Theodore Greiner.

Memorials may be directed to the family for distribution to the VA Hospital and Hospice.
