She was predeceased by: her parents, August Heinen and Flossie Heinen; her husband Jack; her grandson Joshua Miller; and her great grandchild Katilynn Spicer.

She is survived by: her children, Kevin Mears (Carolyn), Dennis Mears, Jean Vigon, Trudy Miller (Robert) and Edward Mears (Cathy). She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, and many other extended relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 9:40 AM at the St. Ambrose Catholic Church (607 High St, Des Moines, IA 50309). A rosary will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 9:40 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
