Mary Louise Gomez Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Louise Gomez (Des Moines, Iowa), who passed away on March 12, 2025, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Mary Louise Gomez to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Ortiz and Helen Ortiz (Rivas); her close friend Donald E. Wilhite; and her sister Lenore Ellis. She is survived by: her children, Robert Frank Gomez, Sr. of Des Moines, Tony Cesar Gomez, Sr. of Des Moines and Carmen Maria Gomez; and her siblings, Theresa Anderson of Des Moines, Richard Ortiz, Sr. of Roswell and David Ortiz, Sr. of Forest City, Iowa. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
A rosary will be held on Tuesday, March 18th 2025 at 6:30 PM at the Hamilton's Southtown Funeral Home (5400 SW 9th St, Des Moines, IA 50315). Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 18th 2025 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 19th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Our Lady of the Americas Catholic Church (1271 E 9th St, Des Moines, IA 50316).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Alzheimer's Association in memory of our Dear Mother, Mary Louise Gomez.
