We are sad to announce that, on January 13, 2026, at the age of 87, Myrtilla Levin of Des Moines, Iowa passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact Myrtilla had on those she encountered along her journey. Though Myrtilla may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, her essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Myrtilla Fones and Red Fones; and her stepdaughter Kathryn Vander Ecken. She is survived by: her children, Jack Levin Stacy L. (Annette), Bogart (Matt) and Ann M. Kiesel (Scott); her stepsons, Scott (Patti) and George (Debi); Tom Stephenson. She is also survived by 12 step-great grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, 7 step-grandchildren, and 7 grandchildren and grand spouses.
