It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Nancy S. Martinez (Des Moines, Iowa), who passed away on September 28, 2025, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid Nancy farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Nancy is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was predeceased by: her father Monty N.; her former husband Larry Brown; and her daughter Christine Brown. She is survived by: her husband Vincent J. Martinez; her children, James Brown (Rose Sun) and Darcee DiStefano; and her granddaughter Gianna DiStefano. She is also survived by many other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other loving relatives, and many special friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hamilton's Funeral Home (605 Lyon St, Des Moines, IA 50309). A vigil service will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 at the Glendale Cemetery (4909 University Ave, Des Moines, IA 50311).
