He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph A. Reyes and Virginia Reyes (Cervantes); and his siblings, Frank, Joseph Jr., Alphonso, Ralph, Daniel, David, Charles, Henry, Richard and Irene Tonsi.

He is survived by: his daughters, Carolyn Nelson and Marilyn Josephsen (Dan); his grandchildren, April Nelson, Evern Hunter (Alisha), Alan Nelson (Shauna Quillen), Kari Glenn, Jared Josephsen (Shriya), Lisa Josephsen (Dax Wedemeyer) and Jordan Josephsen (Sarah Borzo); his stepgrandchildren, Justin Josephsen (Ellen), Brandon Josephsen (Kelly), Bradley, Matthew, Kate, Evan Josephsen, Anthony, Allison Josephsen and Brooklynn White; his great grandchildren, Autum Nelson (Isaiah Bates), Kal Nelson (Noah Rice), Sebastian Nelson, Koral Glenn, Ethan Glenn, Wyatt Glenn, Lewis Glenn, Landon Josephsen, Joren Josephsen, Trinity Nelson, Nataleigh Nelson, Shyann Nelson and Sariaya Nelson; and his great great grandchild Austin Nelson.
