He was predeceased by: his parents, Bonnie Holt and Robert J. Shoning. He is survived by: his wife Linda; his sisters, Sue Cox and Vickie Puchalski; and his sons, Rob Shoning, David Shoning (Kathy) and Ken Shoning (Stephanie). He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Hamilton's Southtown Funeral Home (5400 SW 9th St, Des Moines, IA 50315). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society in loving memory of Bob.
