It is with great sadness that we announce the death of RuthAnne Petrak (Des Moines, Iowa), who passed away on September 15, 2023, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Howard Norval Beard and Helene Ruth Beard (Elliott); and her stepson John Petrak. She is survived by: her husband Ronald D. Petrak; her children, Kenneth Brown (Denise), Louise Rhode (Scott), Keith Brown (Diane) and Philip Brown (Kris); and her stepchildren, Mary Petrak, Keith Petrak and Mark Petrak (Liz). She is also survived by ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and other extended family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to Ron.

“RuthAnne meant a lot to me. I work at Summit Pointe and visited her as often as I could. We were the Shoe Twins, and we talked about our hair sometimes. 🙂 She was so pretty and sweet, always smiling. She would tell me about her family, or read me a letter, or talk about how much she loved Ron, and was generally a bright light in my day. Often when I went to see her, she would grab my hand and say, "I thought you were never coming back!" I told her I would always come back. I will miss her.”
