She was predeceased by: her parents, William Calkins and Ruby Calkins; her husband Clarence O. McFarland; and her siblings, Sheryl, Janet and Billy of Des Moines.

She is survived by: her grandchildren, Cory, Courtney McFarland, Jacob, Kelsey and Zachary Reiter; and her siblings, Jim Calkins (Debbie), Dale Calkins (Debbie), Ray Calkins, Dean Calkins (Vicky) and Linda Calkins of Des Moines. She is also survived by several great grandchildren.

In Lieu of flowers we ask that donations be made to The Salvation Army in Sandy's honor.
