It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shirley L. Cook of Des Moines, Iowa, who passed away on December 3, 2023, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Oliver Dobberthein and Kathryn Dobberthein (Sweeney); her husband William "Bump" Cook; her children, Bill Cook, Patty Taylor, Peggy Kuhns and John Cook, Sr.; her daughter-in-law Kim Cook; and her siblings, Verle Dobberthein, Tom Dobberthein, Joe Dobberthein, John Dobberthein and Mary Deragowski.
She is survived by: her sons, Bob Cook of Des Moines and Tom Cook (Nancy) of Altoona, Iowa; her grandchildren, Steve Kuhns, Kristen Bennett, Jen Griffith, John Cook, Jr., Mike Cook, Joe Cook, Samantha Alford and Nikki Lowe; her brother Larry Dobberthein (Judy) of Melrose; and her pet Enzo. She is also survived by 16 great grandchildren, with one on the way; two great great grandchildren.
