He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Coe and Margaret Coe (Clarke); his brother John Coe; and his brothers-in-law, Dale Brunotte and George Fowler.

He is survived by: his wife Jean; his children, Melanie Todd (Gregg) of Ankeny, Kevin (Jessie) and Scott of Ames; his grandchildren, Alexis Winford (Logan), Brooke Coe, Taylor Coe and Cooper Bisignano; his siblings, Sam Coe (Linda), Marilyn Badgley (Marcus), Karen "Missy" Botts (Ethan) and Claudia Fowler; his siblings-in-law, Mary Brunotte and Jack Brunotte; and his niece Olivia David (Akshay). He is also survived by many other nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the family and will be designated to Holt Adoption Agency in Eugene, Oregon at a later date.
