He was predeceased by: his parents, Sylvester McGarvey and Blanche Kirsch McGarvey of Hudson, Iowa.; his siblings-in-law, Orville and Clara Marlow; his sisters, Mary and Frances Marie; and his daughter Sarah Ellen.
He is survived by: his wife Carol Marlow; his children, Matthew McGarvey (Kara) of Ankeny, Andrew McGarvey (Jennie) of Corona and Molly Meyer (David) of Des Moines; his grandchildren, Karlin, Fletcher McGarvey, Campbell, Sawyer, Harrison McGarvey, Drake and Dane Meyer; his siblings, James McGarvey (Shirley) of Cedar Falls and Margaret Ann Steffen (late Cletus) of Dunkerton; and his brothers-in-law, Jim Weber of Virginia and Gary Marlow of Des Moines.
