She was predeceased by : her parents, Clarion Evinger and Elsie Evinger (Shuey); her former life partner Frank Diffendefer; her husband Walter Carlyle Starr; and her son William.

She is survived by : her stepchildren, Nancy Flagel of Maquoketa, IA, Susie McCubbin (Jim), Steve Starr (Cindy) of Maquoketa, IA and Sherri Feller (Dwain) of Spragueville, IA; and her daughter Betty Jo Clark. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
