She was predeceased by: her parents, Jerome Lanigan and Mary Lanigan (Ahearn); her husband Charles; her daughter Peggy; her stepmother Marie; her sister Margaret Wacker (James); her in-laws, Ramon Burke (Crystal), Al Connell and JC Gohlmann; and her nephews, Dennis Burke, Mart Connell and Mark McDermott.
She is survived by: her children, Cathy, Al Soukup of Fairfax, Dan, Karen Burke of DeWitt, Dave, Susan Burke of Bettendorf, Larry and LynnAnn Burke of Naperville, Illinois; her grandchildren, Marc, Greg Soukup, Aimee Richards (Taylor), Michael (Jennifer), Emily, Ryan, Matt, Crystal Burke, Katie (Brandon LeBlanc), Brian, Maggie, Kevin Burke, Madeline, Connor (Olivia Mani) and Elizabeth Burke; her great grandchildren, Bailey, Carlee Lincoln, Colt and Charlotte Burke; and her sisters-in-law, Marian Connell and Karen Steffen (Florian). She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
A rosary was held on Thursday, July 17th 2025 at 3:30 PM at the St. Joseph Catholic Church (417 6th Ave, DeWitt, IA 52742). Visitation was held on Thursday, July 17th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Friday, July 18th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials may be given to St. Joseph School, St. Joseph Education Foundation, KGYS Radio, and L'Arche in Clinton.
