With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Theresa Hansen of Dewitt, Iowa, who passed away on October 11, 2025 at the age of 97. She was predeceased by: her parents, Peter Reuter and Katherina Reuter (Banowetz); her spouse Thomas Hansen; her siblings, Elizabeth Frett (Ben), Laurentia Roling (Ben), Dorothy Roling (Ambrose), Mary Kilburg (Albert), Benedict (Rita), Vernard, Michael (Edna), Julius Reuter (Mary), Wilfred and Bertha; her son Timothy Hansen; her foster son Stanley Opala; and her siblings-in-law, Earl Kilburg and Peggy Reuter.
She is survived by: her daughter Mona Clapp (Carl) of Camanche; her daughter-in-law Bonnie Hansen of DeWitt; her grandchildren, Tom Clapp, Bill Clapp and Sarah Dirks (Mike); her great grandchildren, Allyson, Rylan Heister, Dakota, Michael Dirks and Vannessa Clapp; her foster son Charles Geske (Chelsea) of California; her brother Richard Reuter of Calamus; her sister-in-law Naomi Reuter of Clinton; and her sisters, Catherine Kilburg of Preston and Joan Gerardy (Gene) of Bellevue. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 11:15 AM at the St. Joseph Catholic Catholic Church (417 6th Ave, DeWitt, IA 52742). A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
