Verlene Reid Obituary
We are sad to announce that, on January 18, 2026, at the age of 97, Verlene Reid of Dewitt, Iowa passed away. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Verlene Reid to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Hathcock and Nancy Hathcock (Gillett); her husband Bernie Reid of Wasola, Missouri.; her son John Lee Reid; and her siblings, Betty Jo Ketelsen, Gladys Billingsly, Valita Crowford, Herman and Hayden Hathcock.
She is survived by: her children, Mike Reid of Evans, Georgia, Dennis Reid of Ft. Madison, Linda Sinclair of Anchorage, Robert Reid of Richmond and Virginia; and her sister Norma Jean Brown. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Grace Lutheran Camp, and Maggie's House, both in DeWitt, and St. Croix Hospice in Davenport.
