He was predeceased by : his parents, Wilfred Scheckel and Margaret Scheckel (Kilburg); his siblings, Charles Scheckel (Janet), Joyce Bauer (Bill) and Carol Steines (Verlyn); his sister-in-law Joyce Scheckel; and his in-law Barbara Ryan (Richard).
He is survived by : his wife Joanne Lutgen; his children, Michael Scheckel (Cindy) of Silvis, Diana Biskup (Brian Atlee) of Milwaukee, WI, Steven "Goob" Scheckel (Debbie Clark) of DeWitt and Barbara Scheckel of DeWitt; his granddaughters, Kate Umphres (Morgan), Jessica Gillmor (Marcus), Bridget Manning (Mitchell) and Madeline Biskup (Matt Collins); his great grandchildren, Wyatt Manning and Owen Gillmor; and his brother Merwyn Scheckel (Carleen Sievertsen). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
