He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard "Dick" Barnes and Virginette Barnes (Minnaert); his brother-in-law Bob Boenig; and his great-niece Camila Barnes. He is survived by: his siblings, Anita Boenig of Danville, Michael Barnes (Cindy) of DeWitt, Pamela Burke (Mike) of Omaha, Patrick Barnes (Joyce) of DeWitt, Gregory Barnes (Sheri) of DeWitt and Brian Barnes (Kathy) of Highlands Ranch, Colorado; and his close friend Mary Dolan. He is also survived by 17 nieces and nephews.
