She was predeceased by : her parents, Hugo Burmeister and Mary Burmeister (Curtis); her husband Don; her children, Linda Briggs, Jean Claypool and John Lionel Claypool of Stockton, Iowa; and her son-in-law Bruce Smiley.

She is survived by : her stepfather Charlie Stewart; her children, Mary Claypool of Donahue, Kathy Smiley of Davenport, Sue Lund (George) of Davenport, Donald Claypool, Jr. of Donahue and Thomas Claypool, Sr. (Amy) of Muscatine; her grandchildren, David Claypool, Christine Bunting (Eric), Jed Wendell, Thomas Claypool, Jr. (Caty) and Amanda Claypool; her half-siblings, Charlotte Stewart, Donnie Stewart and John Stewart; and her pets, Max and Baby Girl.
