She is survived by: her husband Steven Gruener; her sons, Robert Gruener (Susan) of West Point and Douglas Gruener (Jessica) of West Point; her grandchildren, Kayla Sanders (Randy), Chandler Gruener (Maria), Sara O'Donnell (David), Scarlett Johnson (Max) and Vivian Vonkiedrowski (Corey); and her great grandchildren, Hoyt, Arrow, Arthur and Bruno. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

A memorial has been established in her memory for St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
