It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Virginia Calvert of Donnellson, Iowa, who passed away on June 5, 2025, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Virginia Calvert to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, William Hocker and Maxine "Jesse" Hocker (Kite); her husband Ronald R. Calvert; her daughter Roxane; her siblings, Don, Dave, Billy, Tom, Fred, Marilyn Penrod and Myrna Schreck; and her great grandchild Maezie.
She is survived by: her children, Rhonda Longenecker (Brett) of Keokuk and Rod Calvert (Kim) of Donnellson, Iowa; her brother Wendell Hocker (Barb) of Mt. Vernon, Iowa; her grandchildren, Naomi Wheatley, Brandy Atwood (Mike) and Joshua Pihl (Amy); and her great grandchildren, Will, Ella, Lilly, Kobe, Connor and Chloe. She is also survived by sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 8th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Barr Memorial Chapel (1919 Ave F, Fort Madison, IA 52627). A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 9th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
A memorial has been established, and contributions may be made at the Barr Memorial Chapel, Fort Madison, Iowa.
