It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gerald D. Meineke of Dows, Iowa, born in Galt, Iowa, who passed away on June 18, 2023, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Clarence Meineke and Ruth Meineke (Waddell); his sons, Steven and Mark; his sisters, Bernice Meineke and Evelyn Schroder; his niece Darla Schroder; and his nephew Bill Schroder.
He is survived by : his wife Sadie; his children, Bernie (Sally) of Marietta, GA, John (Jo) of Davenport and Mary; his daughter-in-law Carolyn Meineke Cantu of Prairieville, LA; and his grandchildren, Chris Meineke (Traci) of Iowa City, Scott Meineke (Breena) of Ankeny, Lindsey Perret (Kris) of Baton Rouge, LA, Adam, Kirill Meineke of Marietta, GA, John Gourley (Paige) of Carlsbad, CA, Matt Gourley (Sophia Le) of Manchester, MO, Nathan Meineke (Jill) of Muscatine, Daniel Meineke (Allie) of Muscatine, Ryan Meineke (Jules) of Midlothian, TX, Preston Meineke (Jenny) of Storm Lake and Blake Meineke (Joelle) of Hubbard. He is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a large "family" of friends and caregivers.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Food Bank of Iowa in Gerald's memory.
