He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur John and Henrietta Kress (Friederick); his sister Mary Kress; his son Joshua "J. C." Kress; and his siblings-in-law, Frances Kress, Gene Lahey, Don Wolf and Ralph Welter.
He is survived by: his wife Cindy Bauer of Mud Lake, IA; his children, Calvin "C. J." Kress (Angela Will) of Cornell, WI, Rachel Jasper (Don) of Holy Cross, IA and Jeremiah "Jay" Kress (Nicole) of Balltown, IA; his siblings, Anna Mae Welter of Dubuque, IA, Paul Kress of Dubuque, IA, Norbert Kress (Shirley) of Zwingle, IA, Leo Kress (Betty) of Sherrill, IA, Dorothy Wolf of Dubuque, IA and James Kress (Janet) of Sherrill, IA; and his close friend Carl Overbeck of Guttenberg, IA. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
