He was predeceased by: his parents, Amos Rutz and Doris Rutz (Ramsey); and his brother Steve. He is survived by: his son Nathan Rutz; his former wife Sally Rutz; his siblings, Sue Rutz-Coon (Jay), Kent Rutz (Beth) and Karl Rutz (Donna); his sister-in-law Marilyn Rutz; and his cousin Donna Ramsey-Maasen (Dave). He is also survived by nine nieces and nephews.
The military honors will be held on Thursday, May 28th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the American Legion Post #6 (1306 Delhi St, Dubuque, IA 52001).
