He was predeceased by: his parents, Wayne Runkle and Shirley Runkle; Wayne (Shirley Runkle) and Russ (Charlene Wilkins). He is survived by: his wife Debra "Wilks" Runkle of Dubuque, Iowa; his children, Tad Runkle of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Sara Runkle (Gene Kennedy) of West Springfield, Massachusetts; his grandsons, Julian and Owen Kennedy; his siblings, Joann Hulet (Rich) of North Port, Florida, Amy Mercer (Randy) of Lexington and Kenny Runkle (Lisa) of Rushville, Illinois.; his in-laws, Sondra Ross (John), Janene Wilkins and Amy Larson (James Thomas); his nieces and nephews, Natalie Griffioen (Paul), Joseph Runkle, Hannah, Mia, Cameron Mercer, Logan Korthour (TJ), Chloe Larson (Braxton), Jack Larson and Christina Ross; and his great-nephew Tyce Korthour.
Honoring his wishes, through organ donation the gift of life will be shared with many individuals. In remembrance of Runk's life, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to the University of Dubuque Elementary and Secondary Education Program, Hospice of Dubuque, or the charity of your choice.
