He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerald Thill and Marjorie Apel Thill; his daughter Roberta Wolbers; his grandsons, Nicholas LeGrand and Hunter Thill; his parents-in-law, Robert Sr. and Mildred Jones; and his siblings-in-law, Judith Bischoff (Delbert), Joyce Thill, Ronald Jones, Joseph Fecker and Robert Jones Jr..
He is survived by: his children, James Thill, Jr. (Jennifer) of Dubuque, IA, Kelly LeGrand of Dubuque, IA and Renee Benedict (Harold) of Dubuque, IA; his grandchildren, Lisa McGrath (Steve), Caitlynn Helbing (Alex), Jacob Thill, Sadie Thill, Wyatt Thill, Lucas LeGrand (Morgan), Travis LeGrand (Jaidyn Behrle), Trenton Wolbers, Heather Minor (Jharid), Alisha Weis (Charles Rubio), Zshawn Weis and Malysa Hanson (Darren); his great grandchildren, Collin, Maxwell McGrath, Leo, Lincoln Helbing, Crew, Coen LeGrand, Nicholas Ray LeGrand, Maialyn, Charles Rubio and Zshawn Luke Weis; his son-in-law Curtis Wolbers of Eldridge, IA; his siblings, Thomas Thill (Diane) of Dubuque, Barbara Jungk of Houston, TX, Dennis Thill of Dubuque and Gary Thill (Lory) of Dubuque; and his in-laws, Susan Jones of Dubuque, Barbara Fecker of Dubuque, Steve Jones of Maquoketa and Jean Jones of Dubuque. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
