With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Donald Howes of Dubuque, Iowa, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 21, 2026 at the age of 69. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Otto Edward Howes and Gertrude Marie Howes (Heuer); his son Thadeas R. Howes; his niece Katrina Howes; his nephew William R. Howes; and his sister-in-law Kelli Howes.
He is survived by: his wife Lisa Howes of Dubuque; his daughter Jessica Petitgout (Cory) of Candler, NC; his stepchildren, Ann Fultner (D. J.) of Miles, IA and Michael Wernimont (Alissa Benson) of Sherrill, IA; his grandchildren, Rilyn, Odessa, Annaleigh, Larissa, Kendra and Marcus; his siblings, Ronald Howes (Barbara) of Coventry, RI, Michael Howes of Dubuque, Deborah Posey (Ronald) of Hayes, VA and Rebekah Clarke of East Dubuque, IL; and his siblings-in-law, Mike Herting (Karen) and Mary Miller (Guy Kennicker) of Key West, IA. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
