He was predeceased by: his parents, José Muñoz and Tomasa Gutierrez; his wife Jane Sowell; his children, Nancy Kennedy and Jim Gutierrez; and his siblings, Petra, Magdalena, Maria Louisa, Angel and Alfredo.
He is survived by: his children, Jane Gutierrez of Gallatin, TN, Dora Rogers (Scott) of Dubuque, IA, Ernest "Ernie" Gutierrez (Trish) of Jacksonville, NC, Bonnie Gutierrez of Dubuque, IA and Bertha "Bert" Tallman (Rob) of Bald Knob, AR. He is also survived by 23 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and 3 great great-granddaughters.
